A detachment of support vessels of the Northern Fleet consisting of the medium sea tanker “Akademik Pashin” and the rescue tugboat “Altai” passed the English Channel and entered the North Sea. The voyage through the strait took place in difficult hydrometeorological conditions.

In the North Sea, the vessels will support the operations of the large anti-submarine ship (BOD) “Vice-Admiral Kulakov”, which had also arrived there a few days earlier through the English Channel.

The BPK “Vice-Admiral Kulakov”, the tanker “Akademik Pashin” and the rescue tugboat “Altai” until November 7 operated as part of a detachment in the Mediterranean Sea, and then in the Atlantic. At a stop in the international waters of the Seine Bay, Russian sailors replenished their fuel supplies from the tanker in strict compliance with environmental safety measures.

In a few weeks a detachment of ships and support vessels will arrive at the main base of the Northern Fleet – Severomorsk.
