Headline: ASIA/INDONESIA – Associations write to the UN: investigation into the murder of a Catholic catechist by the military

Timika – A group of Indonesian Catholic and lay associations sent a letter to the United Nations to involve the UN Commissions in charge of human rights and extrajudicial executions in the case of the murder of Rufinus Tigau, a Catholic catechist killed by the Indonesian security forces last October 26 in the province of Papua. The young man had gone, unarmed, in the direction of a patrol to ask for explanations about the shootings which were in progress in the village of Kampung Jibaguge , but was killed.
