In the Amur region at the Ukrainka airfield, the crews of the Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers performed flight missions in the dark. The duration of flights of long-range aviation crews was more than 4 hours.

During the flights, long-range aviation pilots worked out refueling in the air, which took place at an altitude of over 6000 meters at a speed of over 550 kilometers per hour. The distance between the tanker aircraft and the strategic missile carrier during this training element was less than 20 meters.

The flight missions were completed under the leadership of the Acting Commander of the Guards Air Force, Colonel Sergei Shevel.

The flight instructors of the aviation formation noted the well-coordinated actions of the crews when working out these flight missions.

Refueling in the air is one of the most difficult elements of flight training, while it allows you to significantly increase the combat range and perform missions as intended at a great distance from the basing sites, both in daylight and at night, under any meteorological conditions.
