Kayak RETURNS also point out travelers’ preference for domestic and proximity tourism

A recent survey conducted by the Kayak travel search platform shows that 55% of respondents intend to travel in the next six months. The number is more than double recorded in May by the same survey. The Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, points out that the change in the behavior of tourists shows that they are feeling safer to travel and that safety is one of the pillars that guide MTur’s actions for the resumption of tourism. “We are having a great adhesion to the Responsible Tourism Seal and this has contributed to a conscious resumption. The study carried out by Kayak also confirms the trend of increasing demand for national attractions and closest to the traveler: 49% of respondents stated that they intend to travel around the country and 27% by the state itself. The destinations of beach and nature are at the top of the wish list and family trips are the main motivation of 63% of the Brazilians interviewed. According to the data, hotels continue to be the preference of travelers, but there is an increase in vacation rentals. and alternative accommodation, such as huts, cottages and country houses. The main means of transport for traveling indicated by the interviewees was by air, followed by their own car and, in third place, a rented car.PESQUISA ELO – The survey “Economic Impacts of Covid-19 in Tourism”, carried out by the credit card operator Elo points out that, in the compilation of debit and credit transactions, car rental and hotels had the best performance in October among the sectors analyzed: car rental increased by 5% compared to the pre-pandemic months (of January and February), and accommodation expenses are almost reaching the same levels as in the period before the conoravirus, since they fell by only 4% last month.
