Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko introduced Minister Alexander Kozlov to the staff of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the leadership of the subordinate federal executive bodies and institutions.

“Today I would like to introduce you to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, who was appointed by the President yesterday, – Alexander Alexandrovich Kozlov. It is important that this appointment was carried out within the framework of the new procedure, which was provided by the 112th article of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, through the approval of the State Duma. The sphere of the Ministry of Natural Resources is well known to Alexander Alexandrovich, ”the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Victoria Abramchenko outlined work on the Ecology national project, the implementation, together with both chambers of parliament, of a comprehensive plan for decriminalization and on digitalization.

Regarding the topic of digitalization, the Deputy Prime Minister recalled that the Government has approved the concept of creating a large information monitoring system in the field of ecology, which will also affect the Baikal natural territory and Kamchatka.

“The system will affect absolutely all users who value environmental information. Two specific, applied measures within the framework of the creation of this large information system must now be started. We talked about this. The first is the Baikal natural territory. As part of the new federal law on the development of BAM and Transsib, we have agreed with Russian Railways to make such a segment for the Baikal territory. And the second is Kamchatka. Using the example of a specific region after the death of aquatic organisms, we agreed to make a comprehensive regional monitoring system. Here it is very important to involve the Academy of Sciences in order to monitor the state of the ocean and aquatic biological resources, ”explained Victoria Abramchenko.

In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister called on to pay special attention to strengthening the role of Rosprirodnadzor in terms of its regulatory, organizational, technological and material support.

“The year was not easy, there were many events, many significant, including technogenic, negative in terms of impact on the environment and human health. First of all, the tragedy that happened in Norilsk in May, ”said Victoria Abramchenko.
