More than 400 athletes from 30 countries of the world took part in the World SAMBO Championships, held in Serbia.

As part of the Russian national team, IK-6 employee, master of sports Zhanara Kusanova, who won a bronze medal in the 80 kg weight category, successfully performed. To reach the final and fight for gold, she did not have enough strength.

Zhanara Kusanova trains at the Orenburg Sports Training Center under the guidance of the Honored Coach of Russia Pyotr Plotnikov. In the spring in Cheboksary, she received a gold medal at the 2020 Russian SAMBO Championships in the 80 kg weight category. The brilliantly won victory became a pass to the World Championship, where the Orenburg athlete also performed at a decent level.

In total, the Russian national team won 25 medals at the world tournament (17 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze), taking first place in the team event.

Initially, the 2020 championship was supposed to be held in Turkmenistan, but due to the restrictions in force in the country, it was decided to transfer the competition to Serbia.
