The Government is focused on ensuring that the Ukrainian medical system can cope with the influx of patients and that every Ukrainian receives the necessary medical care. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on November 11.
For this purpose, according to the Prime Minister, a decision to allocate an additional UAH 895 million to provide with oxygen systems the hospital beds was made.
“The Government is engaged in permanent communication with heads of regional state administrations and heads of healthcare departments. There has also been a relevant conference call today. We made it clear to everyone that the lack of results in providing hospitals with everything they need when the Government provides financial resources is unacceptable,” the Prime Minister stressed.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the decision to allot additional funding in the amount of UAH 86 million to improve the material and technical base of healthcare facilities.
“In particular, it is planned to allocate an extra resource to OKHMATDYT for the purchase of an X-ray tube for a computer tomograph, the purchase of ionizing radiation sources for radiation therapy devices for the National Cancer Institute,” said Denys Shmyhal.
Moreover, according to the Prime Minister, funding for the program “Treatment of Ukrainians Abroad” will be increased by UAH 12 million.
