NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Events and celebrations are running across Australia from 8 November to 15 November.

This year’s theme of ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.

What is Yarra doing to celebrate NAIDOC Week?

As part of NAIDOC Week 2020, Aboriginal Housing Victoria and Yarra Libraries have teamed up to deliver a series of creative and cultural events.

To attend our online events, visit the Facebook page and click ‘Interested’ for updates on videos including:

  • A delicious damper-making workshop by Meriam chef Nornie Bero
  • Pre-recorded sets from contemporary R&B/electropop duo The Merindas, Blues songman Uncle Kutcha Edwards and indie singer-songwriter Alice Skye
  • A special online Storytime by Yarra Libraries
