To fight against the spread of the virus, sports establishments, museums and certain establishments open to the public are now closed until December 1, 2020. Which shops are still open? What are the shelves that supermarkets have to close since Wednesday, November 4? What products will they be able to sell? This is specified in a decree published in the Official Journal on November 3, 2020, which modifies that of October 29, 2020.

What is closed

The following establishments are closed:

auditing, conference, meeting, performance or multi-use rooms (such as party rooms and multipurpose rooms), except for courtrooms in jurisdictions, crematoriums and funeral chambers;
non-essential shops (stores, shopping centers) and establishments open to the public (ERP) except for their delivery and pick-up activities and with the exception of authorized activities;
restaurants and drinking establishments, except for their delivery and take-away activities, room service for hotel restaurants and bars and contract catering;
tourist residences, holiday villages, campsites (except for people for whom it is the regular domicile);
dance halls, discotheques, game rooms (casinos, bowling alleys), cinemas;
libraries, documentation centers, media libraries;
exhibition halls, fairs and exhibitions of a temporary nature;
indoor sports establishments (gymnasiums, indoor swimming pools, saunas and hammams, etc.) except for professional sports;
spa or thalassotherapy establishments;
museums and monuments;
marquees, tents and structures;
outdoor establishments (stadiums, racetracks, amusement parks, zoos, etc.) except for professional or school sports activities, reception of people with a medical prescription, for the organization of health screening, etc.);
early learning, education and training establishments, holiday centers, leisure centers without accommodation;
campsites, holiday villages and tourist accommodation, except when they constitute a regular home for those who live there or for the reception of people in isolation or in quarantine.

To note :By order of the Paris police headquarters , as of Friday 6 November 2020 in the evening, delivery and take-out by restaurants, bars and barges, as well as the sale and consumption of alcohol on public roads in the capital is prohibited between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Open shops

Sales stores are open for the following activities:

maintenance, repair and technical inspection of motor vehicles, vehicles, agricultural machinery and equipment;
automotive equipment;
sale and repair of motorcycles and cycles;
necessary supplies for farms;
general food store;

In shopping centers, supermarkets, multi-store stores, hypermarkets, only the shelves of essential products or those whose sale is authorized (list above), are accessible. The following can therefore be offered for sale in particular:

drugstore (washing and maintenance products and cleaning supplies);
consumer medical devices and masks;

All products sold in businesses that are closed for health reasons can no longer be sold in supermarkets. These shelves are closed there: cultural products (books, CDs and DVDs, video games), toys, jewelry, flowers, clothing items, sporting goods (excluding cycles), furniture, large household appliances.

General food stores and mini markets can accommodate the public for all of their activities.

Note: These businesses and establishments authorized to receive the public must reserve a surface area of ​​4 m2 for each customer. In addition, when local circumstances so require, the departmental prefect may limit the maximum number of clients that can be accommodated in these establishments. The maximum reception capacity of the establishment is displayed and visible from outside it. If local circumstances so require, this gauge may be lowered by the departmental prefects.

Other open establishments and services

Remain open:

nurseries, schools, colleges and high schools with reinforced health protocols;
higher education institutions only for:
training that cannot be carried out remotely because of their practical nature and the list of which is drawn up by the rector of the academic region;
access for doctoral students to laboratories and research units for doctoral students;
access to administrative services (by appointment or by invitation from the establishment);

access to libraries and documentation centers, by appointment;
training establishments when vocational training cannot be provided at a distance;
driver training establishments only to accommodate candidates passing the driving license tests;
artistic education and dance education establishments only for the reception of professional practitioners and training courses delivering a vocational diploma; music, dance and dramatic art conservatories only for pupils enrolled in classes with flexible hours, in the technological series “Sciences and techniques of theater, music and dance”, in third cycle and in cycle of preparation for higher education and when this training cannot be provided at a distance;
public services, in particular counter services;
the reception of vulnerable populations and the distribution of basic necessities for people in precarious situations;
the sale by vending machines and other retail businesses outside of stores, stalls or markets;
labor and temporary work placement agencies;
funeral services;
veterinary clinics and veterinary school clinics;
analytical laboratories;
shelters and pounds;
transport services;
the organization of competitive examinations or exams;
home care services;
the reception of children attending school and those benefiting from a reception mode (protection of minors accommodated during school holidays, professional leave and leisure activities, in particular in holiday centers and leisure centers without accommodation );
the activity of dating services that allows a child to meet a parent or a third party, or be surrendered to a parent or a third party. as well as the activity of family mediation services;
the organization of parenting support activities under the following arrangements in particular: childcare facilities for parents, local school support contracts and listening, support and accompaniment networks for parents;
the activity of information, consultation and marriage counseling establishments;
hotels and similar accommodation, excluding holiday villages, family homes and collective inns;
tourist accommodation and other short-term accommodation when it constitutes a regular domicile for the people who live there;

places of worship remain open for funeral ceremonies up to a limit of 30 people and for weddings with a maximum of 6 people;
