Bogotá (Nov. 9/20). The Ministry of Transport, Chancellery and Migration Colombia are allowed to inform that Colombia hopes that the aeronautical authorities of the different countries will advance in the gradual opening of flights and the circulation of citizens, in the same conditions prior to the pandemic, as soon as possible, to contribute to responsible and sustainable reactivation.

In the case of Argentina, Chile, Spain, Germany, France, Canada and the Netherlands, these are destinations that maintain entry restrictions for Colombians, and an equivalent temporary measure has been contemplated (which has not yet been implemented) framed in the international principle of reciprocity.

Colombia hopes that with these countries progress will be made in the short term towards the opening of flights and the circulation of citizens, without restrictions, to favor mobility in all fields.

Regarding the circular sent to the consulates, it is clarified that this is an initial internal communication that only seeks to inform them, for the eventuality in which they must process visa applications for emergent situations, and does not constitute in itself a restriction since the implementation of this type of reciprocity measures requires other decisions by administrative authorities that are still under consideration.
