Baar: We nodded off briefly – major property damage

In the morning traffic, there was a rear-end collision between a delivery van and a school bus. Fortunately, nobody was injured. The property damage amounts to several tens of thousands of francs.

The accident happened on Monday morning (November 9, 2020), shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Aegeristrasse. A 22-year-old van driver, who was driving downhill, noticed too late that the vehicles in front of him were braking and crashed into the rear of a school bus.

At the time of the accident there were four children on the bus. Fortunately, no one was injured in the collision. According to the statements of the person who caused the accident, he briefly nodded off while driving, which led to a rear-end collision.

Both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be towed. The total property damage amounts to several tens of thousands of francs.

During the recording of the accident and the recovery of the vehicle, the traffic had to be driven past the accident site in one lane. The driver’s license was taken from the 22-year-old van driver for the attention of the administrative authority (road traffic office).

Employees from the road maintenance service, a private towing company and the Zug police were on duty.
