Two people have been arrested following a robbery which resulted in a Section 60 order being issued in an area of Oxford.
The incident happened yesterday (9/11) at about 6.50pm in Barton Fields Road.
The victim was stabbed and had his mobile phone stolen from him. We are aware that there may have been a number of other people present around the time the incident took place.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
As part of the investigation into the incident, a Section 60 order was put in place, giving officers increased stop and search powers. This order was ended at 7am today (9/11). However, we believe that this is an isolated incident.
Investigating officer, Sergeant Dave Woodhouse, based at Oxford police station, said: “This was a violent incident which resulted in a 16-year-old being stabbed. Fortunately, he has since been discharged from hospital.
“We have now arrested an 18-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl in connection with this incident and they are currently in police custody.
“I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding during this time. People will see an increased police presence, including additional patrols, in the area over the next few days while our investigation continues.
