According to the head of the Russian National Center for the Reduction of Nuclear Hazard, S.V. Ryzhkov. From 9 to 13 November 2020, within the framework of the implementation of the International Treaty on Open Skies, the French mission will perform an observation flight over the territory of the Russian Federation on an AN-30 Romanian observation aircraft from the Kubinka airfield.

During the flight along the agreed route, Russian specialists on board the observation aircraft will monitor strict observance of the agreed flight parameters and the use of the observation equipment provided for in the contract.

The AN-30 observation aircraft belongs to the class of aircraft not intended for the use of any weapons. The aircraft and the observation equipment installed on it (aerial cameras) passed an international survey, in which Russian specialists also took part, which excludes the use of technical means not provided for by the Treaty.
