As part of the state tests, the crew of the newest large landing ship “Pyotr Morgunov” completed the task of destroying a floating mine.

In the sea ranges of the Baltic Fleet, the ship’s crew, together with industry representatives, fired from a 30-mm AK-630M artillery system at a simulated floating mine. As a result of the firing, the mock floating mine was successfully destroyed by small-caliber artillery fire.

At the previous stages of testing, ships and vessels of the Baltic Fleet provided artillery firing of the BDK at sea targets, and aircraft and helicopters of the naval aviation of the fleet flew around the ship, imitating the actions of an airborne enemy at various speeds, altitudes and distances, to check the radio-technical armament of the ship and radar stations air defense systems and firing at air targets. For this, Ka-27 helicopters and aircraft of the naval aviation unit of the fleet were involved.

New equipment for the Russian Navy is being tested on an ongoing basis at the sea ranges of the Baltic Fleet. Ships, support vessels, rescue forces and naval aviation of the fleet are involved in providing these measures.
