MIL OSI Translation. Government of the Republic of France statements from French to English –

Faced with a worrying health situation, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, announced, Wednesday, October 28, 2020, a new confinement throughout the metropolitan territory.

This is a new blow for businesses, for the self-employed, for SMEs. But the state is on their side: financial aid will be even more massive than in the spring.

Short-time working was an essential safety net for employees and employers last spring: it is extended.

If you have a business with less than 50 employees and have had to close administratively: → you can benefit from assistance up to € 10,000 / month; → you are exempt from social charges.

If you are a hotel and catering, tourism, events, culture or sport business and your turnover drops by more than 50%: → you can benefit from assistance up to at € 10,000 / month; → you are exempt from social charges.

For all companies with less than 50 employees and self-employed workers who suffer a loss of turnover of more than 50%: → you can benefit from assistance up to € 1,500 / month.

To get an order of magnitude, the state is committing as many resources (6 billion euros) in a month to this solidarity fund as has been done since March. It’s massive and immediate.

A special number has been set up to answer all questions from entrepreneurs (aid to which they are entitled, deferral of charges, particular difficulties they encounter, etc.): 0806 000 245.

Regarding self-employed workers: deductions are automatically suspended. No steps need to be taken. And if you had to close administratively, you will be exempt from social charges.

No business will be without a cash flow solution thanks to: → state guaranteed loans extended until June 30 (instead of December 31) → direct state loans to businesses.

Rents are a legitimate reason for concern for many: → Donors will be encouraged, by a tax credit, to cancel at least 1 month’s rent between October and December for administratively closed SMEs, restaurants, hotels, cafes and sports halls.

Finally, 100 million euros are planned to support small businesses that want to go digital. For example, only one in three today has a website.

Yes, state aid is there.

But we all also have a role to play: to be actors of economic patriotism. Many small businesses are struggling and adapting with home delivery or order pick-ups. Support them: choose proximity!
