The Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office approved the indictment in a criminal case against a citizen accused of committing crimes under Part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal production and sale of narcotic drugs) and Part 2 of Art. 228.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition and storage of precursors of narcotic drugs).

The investigation believes that the accused has established handicraft production of mephedrone in the Klin urban district of the Moscow region for the purpose of its subsequent sale in the Moscow region. In the period from January to February 2020, in a country house and a bathhouse specially equipped for this purpose, he made over 3 kg of the drug.

Illegal activity was suppressed by law enforcement officers. The narcotic drug and precursors have been withdrawn from illicit trafficking.

The criminal case was sent to the Moscow Regional Court for consideration on the merits. The accused is in custody.

The investigation into an accomplice of the defendant continues.
