Credit: Government of the State of ParaíbaIn an agenda in Paraíba, the Ministry of Tourism authorized the accreditation of Banco do Nordeste to the General Tourism Fund (Fungetur). The initiative will make it possible for tourist companies from Paraíba and other states in the region to have around R $ 500 million available to invest in projects in the sector, including the Cabo Branco Tourist Pole, in João Pessoa (PB). With this inclusion, the fund totals 21 financial institutions across Brazil that are able to operate credit lines through Fungetur. The announcement was made during the launch of concession notices for the Cabo Branco Tourist Pole, which will feature resorts, shopping malls, parks and other attractions. Representing the Ministry of Tourism, the executive secretary, Daniel Nepomuceno, highlighted the importance of the measure for the tourist development of the state and the entire region. “We are working to ensure that these resources reach the top and serve the whole of Brazil. The Tourist Polo project is aimed at placing not only Paraíba, but Brazil on the international stage and we are here to help, promote and be able to contribute to the projects that we know will result in the medium and long terms, ”he said. The governor of the state of Paraíba, João Azevêdo, highlighted the partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Banco do Nordeste for the implementation of this major tourism project in the state. “We have released three more lots, two for resorts and one for trade and we have already authorized the construction of three resorts and a water park. Having the Ministry of Tourism and Banco do Nordeste as partners to make it possible for entrepreneurs to access the Fund’s resources is essential for good and large projects ”, he stressed. With the third public call for projects in the Tourism Pole of Cabo Branco, the Paraíba state government expects initial investments in the order of R $ 379.7 million and more than 1,100 direct jobs generated in its construction phase. The Cabo Branco Tourist Pole will be the largest planned tourist pole in the Northeast. Starting next year, the construction of three resorts will begin, one of which will have a water park. From these developments, there is an expectation of an increase of at least 12% in the total number of beds and the attraction of 2.5 million tourists per year, which will represent a financial movement of R $ 2 billion and generate more than 4,680 jobs direct and indirect in the operational phase. The president of Banco do Nordeste, Romildo Rolim, made the institution available to attract investments for tourism in Paraíba. “We have a mission to promote the development of the Northeast and we have the resources for that, destined to agribusiness, trade and services. The tourism production chain is very important for the bank because it is a consolidated sector in our area of operation. The partnership between Banco do Nordeste and the Ministry of Tourism complements and expands the amount of resources for us to invest in the segments ”, he commented. INVESTMENT ATTRACTION – This year, a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism visited the Cabo Branco Tourist Complex to visit the venture, as well as analyzing the public call notice, launched in July. The executive secretary, Daniel Nepomuceno, was present; the deputy executive secretary, Higino Brito; and the national secretary of Attraction for Investments, Partnerships and Concessions, Lucas Fiuza. To enhance investments in the complex, the Ministry of Tourism has also sought to promote a bridge between financial institutions, entrepreneurs of the Cabo Branco Tourist Complex and the state government of Paraíba.
