MIL OSI Translation. Government of the Republic of France statements from French to English –

Source: Republic of France in French The French Republic has issued the following statement:

After a routine stopover in Lomé, the Amphibious Helicopter Carrier (PHA) Dixmude carried out on Thursday, October 29 a SAGNE patrol (fisheries and pollution monitoring mission) for the benefit of the Togolese navy.

Initially, the Togolese patrol boat Agou joined the PHA Dixmude for a tactical evolution exercise. The two vessels practiced navigating together at a short distance, thus gaining in precision on the movements made. They chained six evolutions under the tactical control of the PHA. Subsequently, a maritime surveillance flight was carried out for the benefit of the Togolese navy by the Alouette III helicopter on board the Dixmude.

These patrols thus strengthen the capacity for interaction and cooperation between two Allied navies.

Since 1990, France has deployed one or two vessels on a CORYMBE mission almost permanently in the Gulf of Guinea, in particular to help reduce maritime insecurity, by helping to build the capacities of navies bordering the Gulf and centers of the structure resulting from the Yaoundé process. The deployment of French buildings on a CORYMBE mission completes the French system stationed in West Africa and participates in the maritime component of operational cooperation implemented regionally by these presence forces.
