The event took place in the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, the 30th anniversary of the EMERCOM of Russia and was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the participant in the Great Patriotic War.

The installation of a memorial stone in the village of Ropsha is not accidental: in January 1944, the battalion under the command of Dmitry Ivanovich was the first to break into the village and liberate it without loss.

The honorary right to open the monument was given to the State Secretary – Deputy Minister of EMERCOM of Russia Alexei Serko, Vice Governor of the Leningrad Region for Security Mikhail Ilyin and representative of the Council of Veterans of the EMERCOM of Russia Valery Ardashev.

In his opening speech, A. Serko, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of EMERCOM of Russia, noted that in memory of the Victory soldier, on the day of his centenary, the same events were held in Moscow. And also expressed gratitude to everyone who took part in the creation of the park and the memorial stone in honor of Lieutenant General D.I. Mikhailik.

A plaque on a memorial stone tells about the life of a Victory soldier.

Behind Dmitry Mikhailik’s shoulders was more than one battle with the elements. Thanks to his professionalism and his highly qualified team, thousands of lives have been saved during the elimination of the consequences of earthquakes, large-scale fires and accidents.
