The Uvarovskaya interdistrict prosecutor’s office of the Tambov region carried out an inspection at the request of a local resident born in 1932, in connection with the refusal of the regional department of social protection and family policy to issue her a certificate of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War (home front worker).

It has been established that from July 1944 to January 1950 she worked on the Verny Put collective farm, including during the Great Patriotic War.

The fact of her work on the collective farm during the specified period was established by the commission for assigning pensions under the executive committee of the Uvarovsky District Council of People’s Deputies on the basis of the protocol of interviewing witnesses from July 1993 and included in the length of service.

In accordance with the legislation, citizens who worked in the rear during the war years for at least six months are classified as veterans of the Great Patriotic War and have the right to receive social support measures.

However, after the pensioner applied to the regional department of social protection and family policy, she was denied the appropriate certificate.

Since the woman was not able to obtain the proper documents confirming the fact of her work during the Great Patriotic War, and to independently prepare a statement of claim in connection with her advanced age, the prosecutor’s office defended her rights.

The interdistrict prosecutor sent a statement of claim to the court, which was considered and satisfied. The fact of work of a pensioner in the rear during the Great Patriotic War is legally established, which gives her the right to receive the title of veteran, to receive appropriate benefits and payments.

The court satisfied the demands stated by the prosecutor’s office, the court decision came into legal force.
