Of which, the export value of the main agricultural products was estimated at US$ 15.07 billion, down by 1.6%. The value of exported livestock products was estimated at US$256 million, down 21.4%. Seafood exports were estimated at nearly US$6.88 billion, down by 2.5%. The export figure for main forest products was estimated at US$10.31 billion, up 13.3% over the same period in 2019.

Some commodities maintained their growth rates such as rice, cassava and cashew. Specifically, in the first ten months of 2020, rice export values reached 5.29 million tons, at a value of US$2.61 billion, down 4% in terms of volume but increasing 8% in terms of value over the same period last year. Cassava products had an export volume of about 2.14 million tons, with a value of US$758 million, up 12.3% in terms of volume and 1.9% in terms of value over the same period in 2019.

One of the most significant area is wood and wood products of Vietnam. Just in October 2020, exports of these were estimated at US$ 1.15 billion, bringing the 10-month export value to US$ 9.64 billion, up 12.4% over the same period in 2019.

However, many Vietnamese agricultural product exports decreased compared to the same period last year.

According to the MARD, in October 2020 agricultural imports reached US$ 2.72 billion, bringing the 10-month total import value to US$ 25.59 billion, down 1.5% over the same period last year. Of which, the import value of the main agricultural, forestry and aquatic products was estimated at US$ 20.3 billion, down 1.5% over the same period in 2019.
