Credit: Gustavo MessinaThe Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, fulfilled this Friday (30.10) another series of agendas to address the resumption of the sector and promote improvements in tourism infrastructure. In Fernando de Noronha (PE), the Federal Government delegation got to know projects, visited facilities and heard demands from the island’s residents. As part of the incentive to the responsible return of tourism, MTur has promoted meetings in several points of Brazil, such as Gramado (RS), Ouro Preto (MG), Serra do Cipó (MG) and Jalapão State Park (TO) .The day in Fernando de Noronha it started at the Visitors Center of Fernando de Noronha, with the presentation of the project for the access stairway to Praia do Sancho. The proposal provides for the construction of equipment that will make it easier to visit the beach, which has already been voted the best in the world five times by the Tripadvisor Travelers ’Choice Award. Currently, there are two ways to access the site: by sea or by land, the latter option being a vertical staircase with 208 steps embedded in the rock. The work will provide more accessibility to the site. Then, representatives of the federal government visited the Boldró complex, where the former Esmeralda hotel and a United States air force base were located during the Second World War, and learned about local revitalization. In addition to Álvaro Antônio, the ministers of Education, Milton Ribeiro, and the Environment, Ricardo Salles; the secretary of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Jorge Seif Júnior; and the president of Embratur (Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion), Gilson Machado Neto.The Minister of Tourism also participated in two more meetings with representatives of the local population and fishermen. First, in a meeting with the Fernando de Noronha District Council, Álvaro Antônio highlighted the island’s tourism potential and guaranteed support for the local infrastructure to allow the presence of more visitors and, also, that the improvements generate jobs and income for the residents. During the event, the minister announced the accreditation of Banco do Nordeste as one of the financial agents of the General Tourism Fund (Fungetur). “On November 5, Banco do Nordeste will sign the accreditation at Fungetur. Then, Fungetur’s resources will be available so that smaller and micro-entrepreneurs have the opportunity to access them ”, he said. The Ministry of Tourism has, so far, provided more than R $ 2 billion in credit to entrepreneurs in the tourism sector throughout Brazil, mainly for micro and small companies. With these resources, the estimate is that more than 26 thousand jobs have been preserved. Another R $ 3 billion remain available. The minister highlighted the importance of measures so that the sector can develop in the best way. “The tourist destination needs infrastructure, professional training and promotion. Our actions are for tourism to develop with the preservation of the environment. Under President Bolsonaro’s government, for the first time in history, tourism became a priority on the country’s economic agenda ”, he said. FISHERMEN – Still on Friday, the Minister of Tourism participated in a meeting with the Fishermen’s Association . At the event, the secretary of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Jorge Seif Júnior; and the Minister of the Environment, Ricardo Salles, handed out fishing cards to several professionals from Fernando de Noronha.
