All taxpayers will benefit from this from 2021
Today the Finance Committee finally discussed the draft for the Second Law on Tax Relief for Families and on the Adjustment of Other Tax Regulations as well as the draft of a Law on the Increase of the Disabled Allowances and the Adjustment of Other Tax Regulations. The 2nd / 3rd Readings in the Bundestag will take place tomorrow. The deputy chairman of the parliamentary group, Andreas Jung, and the financial policy spokeswoman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, Antje Tillmann, explain:
Andreas Jung: “Once again we are preventing creeping tax increases through cold progression. The increase in the exemptions and the shift in the tax rate in favor of taxpayers relieves all taxpayers, from trainees to entrepreneurs. There will be no additional burden due to inflation in the coming years. In addition, the child benefit and the lump sum for people with disabilities will be increased significantly. Together with the already decided abolition of the Solis for the vast majority of people, the tax relief will amount to almost 25 billion euros annually from next year. The citizens have more money in their pockets – and that benefits the economy again! “
Antje Tillmann: “In addition to investments in infrastructure such as kindergartens and schools, families in particular will be relieved financially in this legislative period. With the now decided further increase in child benefit by 15 euros and the adjustment of the child allowances, we are implementing a central concern of the coalition agreement. Due to the Corona situation, we helped families in crisis with the family bonus, the increase in the relief amount for single parents and the extension of the child benefit. With the Strong Family Act, one billion euros had already been invested in the child allowance.
In addition to the tax relief for families, it was also a central concern of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group to finally increase the lump sums for people with disabilities and thus adapt them to the economic development of recent years. Here, too, we implemented an important coalition agreement project. “
