Bogotá (Oct. 27/20). Within the framework of the event developed by the Administrative Department of Public Function on the occasion of the National Public Servant Day, on October 26, 2020, Ambassador Fulvia Benavidez, Director of Migration, Consular and Citizen Service Affairs, received a mention of honor for his commitment, dedication, effort and vocation of service, specifically as leader of the team that implemented the initiative “The Complex Consular Function in the scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effective strategy: Global Migratory Action Plan and Assistance to our nationals in a state of vulnerability and their gradual repatriation ”.

This project, which constitutes a great contribution to the response to the global situation, became a reality with the participation of the coordination of the Directorate of Migration Affairs, in particular the coordination of Assistance to Nationals and the consulates of Colombia.

The initiative allowed the return to Colombia of 41,531 nationals and resident foreigners in a vulnerable condition due to the health emergency, through 214 humanitarian flights.
