By Vanessa Castro

The Iguaçu National Park is one of the main natural attractions of Brazil. Credit: Zig Koch / MTur “The most impressive waterfalls on the planet”. This is how the largest travel guide in the world, Lonely Planet, describes Iguaçu Falls (PR), one of the most visited natural attractions in Brazil. The Brazilian destination appears in seventh place on the list of must-see places made by the guide and divides the ranking with international attractions such as the city of Petra, in Jordan, and the Salar de Uyuni salt desert, in Bolivia. The selection is part of the last edition from the Ultimate Travel List, which lists the 500 most memorable destinations that everyone should visit at least once in their life. “It’s a visceral jaw-dropping experience. The strength and noise of the Iguaçu Falls, with hundreds of waterfalls and millions of liters of water per second, will remain forever in the memory of people who have the opportunity to visit and visit this place ”, describes the publication. Iguaçu, where the falls are located, broke a visitation record in 2019, when it received more than 2 million tourists. After months closed as a result of the pandemic, the park was reopened to the public in August, following all security protocols, and came to receive about 12 thousand visitors in the three days of the holiday of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, in October.
