Servicemen of the Military Automobile Inspectorate (VAI) of the united Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan carried out the action “Seat belt”, jointly with the flight crew of the compound developed thematic posters telling about the need to use seat belts. These posters were placed on information stands at the exits from the territory of the military camp.

“It is interesting to note that the first seat belts appeared on the plane, and not in cars, so the idea to involve the flight crew in this action was put into practice,” said Captain Dmitry Borodin, head of the Air Aviation Administration of the united Russian military base.

He explained that for the first time seat belts were used by the French engineer Adolphe Pegu, who repeated Pavel Nesterov’s loop at the beginning of the 20th century on a home-made plane.

“Especially for the famous“ loop ”and long enough flight upside down, Pegu designed this restraint. Subsequently, with significant technical modifications, the seat belts were switched to hired vehicles, ”said Dmitry Borodin.

The preventive action “Seat Belt” is aimed at developing the attitude of road users towards seat belts as an essential element of the passive safety system of cars and increasing road transport discipline among the drivers of military units.
