The work will be completed at the end of 2021.

Order dated October 26, 2020 No. 2765-r

The government will help accelerate the completion date of the reconstruction of the Trans-Baikal Drama Theater. For this, more than 348 million rubles will be directed to the region in 2020, and not in 2022, as previously planned. This order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The transfer of funding will help complete all work in 2021 – one year ahead of schedule.

In total, more than 1.1 billion rubles will be spent on renovating the building. Of these, 1.006 billion will be financed from the federal budget. In 2019, 102.6 million rubles have already been allocated for these purposes. The rest of the money will be received during 2020-2021.

The Trans-Baikal Drama Theater was founded in Chita in the 1930s. In 1970 the troupe moved to a new building in the city center. Since then, the building has never been overhauled.

Mikhail Mishustin made a working trip to the Far East in August in order to personally learn about the problems existing in the region and understand how they can be solved. In September, the National Program for the Development of the Far East until 2035 was approved. It focuses on the modernization of social infrastructure – the construction of new schools, kindergartens, hospitals and cultural facilities.
