The Leninsky District Court of Tyumen delivered a verdict in a criminal case against the former junior inspector of the supervision group of the security department of the federal state institution “Correctional Colony No. 2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Tyumen Region.” He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 5 of Art. 33, part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (aiding in an attempt to acquire narcotic drugs without the purpose of selling on a large scale).

The court established that on March 4, 2020, the inspector tried to bring into the colony for one of the convicts drugs with a total weight of more than 200 grams. However, he was detained by officers of his own security of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Tyumen region.

It should be noted that in August 2020, a former inspector was convicted of accepting a bribe in the total amount of 217 thousand rubles. He received the money for bringing cell phones and other prohibited items for the convict. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony.

The court, taking into account the previous convictions, finally sentenced the perpetrator to 5 years of imprisonment with serving a sentence in a general regime correctional colony with the deprivation of the right to hold positions in the bodies of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia related to the exercise of the functions of a representative of government and organizational and administrative powers, for a period of 3 years.
