The city will lease premises in the building of the former Basmanny police station. The building of 1782 is a federal cultural heritage site.

Entrepreneurs can rent non-residential premises in the capital under the preferential program “1 ruble per 1 square meter”. At the same time, the winner of the auction will have to restore the building within five years.

“The auction does not have any restrictions on the composition of participants, any legal or natural person, including an individual entrepreneur or a representative of small or medium-sized businesses, can submit an application. The object has a free functional purpose and is suitable for placing an educational, administrative, commercial institution or cultural and educational center here. The building of the Basmanny Police Unit consists of a basement and four floors with a total area of ​​1255.8 square meters of non-residential premises. The object is located within walking distance from the Krasnye Vorota metro station, at the address: Novaya Basmannaya street, 29. The organizer of the auction is Moscow City Department for Competition Policy.

It involves the restoration and preservation through private investment of cultural heritage sites that are in an unsatisfactory condition. In less than nine years of the program, investors have rented 32 historic buildings at the city auction, 19 of them completed restoration work. The building was built in 1782 as a manor house. In 1790, it was acquired by the writer Nikolai Trubetskoy and five years later sold to Major General Vasily Kar. The building was badly damaged in a fire in 1812 and was soon sold to the treasury. After repairs in 1820, the Basmanny police station was opened here, and a wooden watchtower was built on the roof. In Soviet times, the tower was destroyed. Over the years, the writer Vladimir Korolenko, the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky, the future revolutionary Bolshevik Inessa Armand were under arrest in the Basmanny unit. Until 2014, the Basmanny District Internal Affairs Department was located here. The building is now in an unsatisfactory condition and needs restoration.
