Work on artificial reforestation has been completed in correctional colony No. 21 of the Department of Public Administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Arkhangelsk Region. The institution purchased 125,000 spruce seedlings with a closed root system. They were planted on a pre-prepared territory with a total area of almost 83 hectares.

The convicts were involved in the reforestation of the site, which functions as a correctional center No. 2, at IK-21, located in the settlement of Yangory.

It should be noted that correctional colony No. 21 is one of the subdivisions of the region’s penitentiary system, where logging and woodworking are priority areas of production activity. Reforestation is the social responsibility of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the development of the forest industry.
