The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has advised that Melbourne councils can now resume enforcing parking restrictions under COVID-19 restrictions.

From Monday 12 October 2020, we’ve only been issuing warnings for overstays in Yarra’s Green Parking Zones.

Starting Wednesday 28 October 2020, we’ll be enforcing overstays in green parking zones and not having a valid parking ticket (where applicable).

This is to ensure fair access to car parking in Yarra as restrictions ease and retail and hospitality businesses reopen.

We’re also working with local hospitals and medical facilities to ensure health care workers continue to have access to car parking.

Our parking inspectors work under Yarra’s COVIDSafe Plan and are following current health advice. This includes physical distancing, wearing face masks and practicing good hygiene.
