Ambassador Ana María Prieto Abad and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, King of Thailand.

Bangkok (Oct. 26/20). On Saturday, October 24, 2020, Ambassador Ana María Prieto Abad was received in a special audience by the King of Thailand, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, and His Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, on which occasion she delivered the credentials that accredit her as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to the Kingdom of Thailand. The ceremony was held at the Dusit Palace, in the city of Bangkok.

Ambassador Prieto transmitted to H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn greeted President Iván Duque Márquez and Chancellor Claudia Blum de Barberi and took the opportunity to highlight the importance for our country of diplomatic relations with Thailand, as a front-line player in Southeast Asia.

Likewise, the Ambassador highlighted the measures adopted in the Kingdom to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as praising the behavior and discipline of the Thai people.

In turn, the King thanked the Ambassador for the words and shared with her the visits she has made to Latin America, to which the Ambassador responded by advocating that the next visit to the region be to Colombia to open the Embassy of the Kingdom in Bogota. His Majesty said goodbye wishing the Ambassador a successful management and assuring her that she will have the full support of the Kingdom authorities.
