Credit: Mariana Venturim / MTurThe first meeting of the Tourism Mobility and Connectivity Forum (Mob-Tur) of the Ministry of Tourism, this Monday (26.10), marked the approval of the Action Plan of the BH-Brumadinho tourist train, which links the mining towns of Belo Horizonte and Brumadinho. The next step is the creation of a technical group and the holding of an extraordinary meeting to be scheduled for November. During the meeting, issues such as improvements in road tourism, air connectivity and nautical tourism were also discussed. “This first meeting was very important for us to present the forum’s guidelines and identify priorities, including the approval of the tourist train. Mobility and connectivity are decisive for the development of tourism in the country and, in this post-pandemic moment, it also solves the demand for short-distance tourism ”, highlighted the national secretary of Attraction for Investments, Partnerships and Concessions (SNAIC), Lucas Fiuza. “I just have to thank the teams and secretaries for their efforts for what was presented and discussed here”, he concluded. The BH-Brumadinho train project foresees the revitalization of a station in Belo Horizonte, close to the Museum of Arts and Crafts (MAO ), and the construction of another in Inhotim. In activity, it will be able to transport 1,400 people a day in two locomotives with ten wagons each. The 52-kilometer journey will take just over an hour. Now, a technical working group will be created to mobilize the actors involved in the project and define actions and implementation strategy. The objective is to engage institutions directly linked to the project, such as the Ministry of Infrastructure, the state government of Minas Gerais, Vale, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT). In November, an exclusive extraordinary meeting should take place to deal with the BH-Brumadinho train. REQUALIFICATION – The members of the forum also highlighted the indication of the “Complete Tourist Streets” project for execution mainly through parliamentary amendments. The initiative adds tourism to the original proposal of public roads, improving existing tourist attractions and leveraging new ones, prioritizing mobility on foot. This happens through the improvement of roads in the surroundings, boosting the tourist flow of the regions with low investment and significant results. FORUM – In addition to the presence of secretary Lucas Fiuza, also participated the secretaries William França, of the National Secretariat of Development and Competitiveness ; Vicente Alves, of the National Secretariat for Tourism Infrastructure and representatives of the minister’s office, the executive secretariat and legal advice. The group has the function of discussing and proposing policies and strategies to improve tourist mobility and connectivity in Brazil; consult authorities and technicians related to tourist mobility and connectivity; and promoting the cohesion of actions and programs. In addition, he must carry out studies on topics related to mobility and tourist connectivity and, also, observe international experiences in the segment and learn about marketing practices.
