We will do everything so that all our effort and work generates jobs and income for the population of Serra do Cipó and all of our Brazil ”, said Marcelo Álvaro Antônio during a speech. Still in his speech, the minister highlighted the advances in tourism in 2019 and actions to prevent the sector from breaking down due to the pandemic. “We divided our work into two moments: preserving the sector, to avoid dismantling, with measures such as MP 936, for the preservation of jobs, then the important MP 948, which regulated the relationship between company and consumer, and MP 963 , which released a record amount for the sector. Now we are in a second moment, which is to resume in a responsible and safe way ”, he affirmed. The Mayor of Santana do Riacho (MG), one of the municipalities that comprise Serra do Cipó, André Torres, thanked the minister for being present at the meeting and scored expectations for the sector. “Our goal is to help a priority area in our municipality: tourism. We have a lot to do, especially in the area of ​​infrastructure. We have a big handicap, but I am sure that this meeting will benefit us and help one of the most beautiful biodiversities in Brazil, ”he concluded. Another important point presented at the meeting was the intention to use the resources from Vale do Rio Doce’s environmental fine. for the disaster in Brumadinho (MG), in the development of infrastructure actions around the Serra do Cipó National Park. The Ministry of Tourism’s project served as inspiration for the creation of “Turismo + Seguro”, a program with training, health protocols, inspection and marketing campaigns for the resumption of the sector in Santana do Riacho.
