Zug: Accident ends in hospital

A car driver crashed head-on into a roll-off trough. She was admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

A 76-year-old car driver caused a self-accident on Saturday evening (October 24, 2020) at 5:15 p.m. on Lüssirainstrasse in the city of Zug. The driver said she was blinded by the sun and therefore drove head-on into a trough standing on the street.

The 76-year-old was seriously injured. After initial medical care, she was taken to the hospital by the Zug ambulance service.

The car was totaled and had to be removed by a private towing company.

Because oil and liquid leaked from the vehicle involved in the accident, the street and two shafts had to be cleaned by the maintenance service of the city of Zug.

While the injured driver was being rescued, Lüssirainstrasse had to be closed in both directions.
