Servicemen of the combined arms formation of the Baltic Fleet have successfully passed the tests in physical training as part of the control check for the year.
A special commission under the leadership of Major Yuri Pilyugin, Assistant Commander of the Army Corps for Physical Training, checked the level of physical fitness in the formations and military units, as well as in the corps management, over several weeks.
The commission assessed the servicemen on the basis of the main physical indicators: strength, endurance, speed, agility and military-applied skills. Depending on the category of troops, which includes support units, main troops and special forces, servicemen passed the exercises in accordance with the instructions for checking the troops of the Western Military District.
To assess the strength of the military personnel, standards were taken for bending and extending the arms in support on the uneven bars, pulling up on the bar, bench press, lifting force and lifting a coup on the bar, holding the angle in the support on the uneven bars, pushing two weights, bending and extending the arms in the lying position , bending the body forward and snatching the kettlebell.
Endurance was demonstrated in running at a distance of 1, 3 and 5 kilometers and in swimming in 300 and 500 meters freestyle. Speed was tested at distances of 100 and 60 meters, shuttle run 10 * 10 meters and in the pool at distances of 50 and 100 meters.
Applied military skills were assessed in running on a single obstacle course and marching throws for 5 and 10 kilometers
Also, a grenade was thrown at a distance and a special hand-to-hand combat complex was handed over. The following exercises were carried out to test the dexterity: movement on a narrow support (log) and a jump of the legs apart over the goat in length.
More than 4,000 servicemen were checked in a few weeks. Major Pilyugin, Assistant to the Commander of the Army Corps for Physical Training, noted that in recent years the level of physical fitness of the military personnel of the formation has significantly increased, which helps them to perform combat and daily tasks in accordance with their purpose. The best results were shown by: a separate guards anti-aircraft missile regiment and a separate guards motorized rifle Proletarian Moscow-Minsk regiment.
