The Leninsky District Court of the city of Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, delivered a verdict in a criminal case against 7 members of an organized criminal community. Depending on the role and degree of participation, they were found guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in a criminal community), part 3 of Art. 30, pp. “A”, “d” h. 4, h. 5 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt on the illegal sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances).

The court found that from the fall of 2016 to August 2018, the attackers as part of an organized criminal community carried out illegal sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the territories of the Moscow, Tula, Nizhny Novgorod regions and the Chuvash Republic.

Each of the members of the community had a strictly defined role in the commission of crimes, communication was carried out in a conspiracy manner. Orders for the purchase of narcotic drugs were taken on the Internet.

Law enforcement agencies have seized over 50 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from illegal traffic.

The court, taking into account the opinion of the public prosecutor, sentenced the guilty to imprisonment for a term of 6 to 11 years with serving in a penal colony with a strict regime. In addition, each convicted person was sentenced to additional punishment in the form of a fine of up to 700 thousand rubles.

The verdict did not come into legal force.
