The crews of the Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters of the Aviation Regiment of the Central Military District (CVO), based in the Novosibirsk Region, have worked through the mountain passes in the Altai Republic at an altitude of up to 2,500 meters.

During training flights, the pilots improved their piloting skills when flying around peaks and rocky areas in the daytime in difficult weather conditions, with constantly changing atmospheric pressure, wind direction and speed.

In addition, the helicopter crews practiced the tasks of detecting and evacuating the conditionally wounded. The servicemen landed helicopters at hard-to-reach unprepared mountain sites. Particular attention was paid to the actions of the crews in the event of emergency situations.

10 Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters, as well as about 70 flight and engineering personnel of the helicopter regiment were involved in the training flights of the transport aviation.

A separate helicopter regiment is part of the 14th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Central Military District. In service are the Mi-8AMTSh-V multipurpose helicopters, designed to transport cargo, personnel and air fire support. As well as Mi-24 attack helicopters, which are used to destroy enemy personnel, armored vehicles and firing points.
