The funds will come from the government reserve fund.

More than 1.8 billion rubles will be received by the Tula region for the start of construction of an oncological center. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

It is assumed that the new center will have a polyclinic, a 340-bed hospital and operating theaters. It will conduct early diagnostics and provide medical assistance to cancer patients. The institution will open in 2024.

Design and survey work has already been carried out at the expense of the regional budget. The allocation of 1.8 billion rubles from the Government’s reserve fund will help start construction in 2020, and not in 2021, as previously planned.

In total, the creation of the center will require about 8.2 billion rubles. Of these, over 6 billion rubles will be funded from federal funds.

The decision was made at meeting of the Government on October 22.
