In the universal sports and training complex “Start” of the main base of the Northern Fleet – Severomorsk, under the leadership of Deputy Fleet Commander Vice-Admiral Oleg Golubev, a training and methodological lesson on physical training was held with servicemen of the departments and services of management and the headquarters of the joint strategic command.

The classes were held on the eve of the Northern Fleet’s physical fitness control check to explain to officers and other categories of servicemen the methods of passing tests for various types of physical exercises for strength, speed, endurance and dexterity.

How to correctly perform exercises on various sports equipment was demonstrated by instructors in physical training of formations and units of the Kola Flotilla of diverse forces, the Air Force and Air Defense Army, the Army Corps and the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet.

In total, about 200 senior and senior officers of the fleet, as well as other categories of military personnel, took part in the classes.

During the physical fitness test, the servicemen of the Northern Fleet have the right to take various exercises for strength, speed (agility) and endurance, including choosing among exercises of the same type. For example, a 43-year-old officer can pass, instead of pull-ups, a power lift or a roll-up on the bar, a 70-kg barbell bench press from the chest, push-ups from the floor or on the uneven bars, as well as a jerk or snatch of a 24 kg kettlebell for a long or short cycle. Instead of running, you can take swimming for speed and endurance. Also, exercises for speed can be replaced by performing exercises for dexterity: walking on a gymnastic balance beam for a while (forward and backward, with left and right side steps), jumping over a “horse” or “goat”, or performing a complex of hand-to-hand combat.
