The Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership (HSPC) is pleased to announce that the annual Carers Connect Event will take place as planned on Carers Rights Day, 26 November, despite the challenges of COVID-19. To enable this, the Event will be held as an interactive online conference.
By supporting the Carers Connect Online Event, the HSCP and our local community partners hope to create the space and opportunity for those in the Caring Community to come together, to reconnect and support one another in this challenging time. The Event is also intended to highlight what support and services are available to assist Carers, both in their role as a Carer and in terms of general wellbeing.
To help achieve this, the Event will be hosting video presentations, discussions and interactive workshops by many of the community groups and partner organisations that operate to support Carers throughout Perth and Kinross. It is our hope that by the Event’s end, Carers will have developed new skills and techniques as well as know where and how they can access any additional support they may need.
HSCP Chief Officer, Gordon Paterson stated: “This has been an exceptionally challenging year for all of us and we recognise that Unpaid Carers have been particularly hard hit by the difficulties brought about by COVID-19. I believe it is now more important than ever that we reach out to support unpaid Carers to continue their caring role, while at the same time enjoying a life outwith caring.”
Enabling everyone to access the wellbeing support they may need is especially important in this current time and so the HSCP hopes that employers of Unpaid Carers will take a compassionate and considerate approach and help their staff to make time to attend this event.
To register for this free Online Event, we are asking Carers and Caring Professionals to visit the PKAVS Carers Hub webpage.
