The scouts of the motorized rifle unit of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (YuVO), as part of the final inspection for 2020, overcame the special obstacle course “Scout’s Trail” at the Gvardeets training ground in Chechnya.

The “scout trail” was developed by military professionals: the 700 m strip includes more than 30 obstacles and obstacles of various types, most often encountered in a combat situation.

In the course of the classes, the scouts acquire the skills of stealthy, silent movement with weapons and equipment, overcoming difficult obstacles, learn to skillfully operate in trenches and message passages, destroyed buildings, practice hand-to-hand combat, grenade throwing, and removal of the sentry. At the same time, fires, battle noises, booby-traps, “surprises” are simulated.

To successfully overcome the distance, a high level of physical and combat training is required, the ability to handle any type of weapon, therefore, along the entire length of the trail, servicemen perform, among other things, such elements as throwing knives and sapper blades.
