On October 23, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Emergency Situations of Russia Yevgeny Zinichev to determine the priorities for improving the emergency prevention system.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers – Viktor Yatsutsenko, Viktor Nichiporchuk and representatives of the State Institution of Science and Technology Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
Currently, the department is completing the trial operation of a mobile application to determine the so-called “hot spots” – fires, with the ability to simulate the likely areas of fire spread. The application is designed to promptly inform the heads of municipalities and representatives of the RSChS of other departments. Thus, receiving information about the source of fire in the subject, the leader has the opportunity to quickly take urgent measures, namely, to send the required forces and means in advance to protect the settlement, evacuate the population, if necessary, prepare a TAP, inform other participants, request assistance, and etc., that is, to minimize the consequences of the impending threat.
In this regard, the Minister of EMERCOM of Russia set a task – to implement this tool already in 2021.
In addition, the EMERCOM of Russia is working to digitize the process of providing assistance to the population affected by emergencies through the Unified Portal of Public Services and other available information services. This will allow victims to submit applications for the provision of the necessary assistance to government authorities in electronic format.
“Digitalization of this area is primarily necessary in the interests of citizens affected by emergencies, and is aimed at simplifying the process of receiving material assistance,” said E. Zinichev. At the same time, he noted that it is necessary to preserve the possibility of submitting applications in person.
