At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland extradited Ivan Koshelev to Russia.

Artyomovskiy City Court of Primorsky Krai, he was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale). The court sentenced him in absentia to 4 years in prison.

According to the investigation, in 2018, Koshelev, having misled the victim about the possible provision of services to him for the purchase and delivery of a vehicle from Germany, received money from the victim in the amount of more than 2 million rubles upon arrival at the airport of Vladivostok. After that, he did not fulfill his obligations, he disposed of the funds at his own discretion.

Since the fraudster escaped from law enforcement agencies, he was put on the international wanted list.

In February 2020, in connection with the establishment of his whereabouts on the territory of Poland, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request to foreign colleagues to extradite the convicted person, which was satisfied.

Accompanied by officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, Ivan Koshelev was taken to the Kaliningrad region.
