Safe sporting events in times of the pandemic: The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) presents a national hygiene framework concept for the competitions and games of SPORTDEUTSCHLAND. The concept is based on the ten “DOSB guard rails” from the spring of this year for re-entry into club-based sport after the lockdown, the over 60 sport-specific transition rules of the leading associations and numerous internationally recognized hygiene concepts from associations and organizers in Germany. Together with the experienced service provider APA, the DOSB has prepared the experience in sport in the sense of proven best practice examples in a hygiene framework concept, provided it with a uniform visual language and subjected it to a test by TÜV Rheinland society as a whole continues to have the highest priority. In times of the ongoing pandemic, this also means that we can make a valuable contribution through highly responsible sporting activities and perfectly organized sporting events with hygiene concepts and at the same time protect the unique diversity of organized sport in Germany “, declared DOSB President Alfons Hörmann.” The surveys of our member organizations have clearly shown that the loss of sporting events at all levels triggers major livelihood concerns in the medium and long term. That is why we want to help people help themselves with this nationwide hygiene framework concept presented today. At the same time, we are promoting the broad acceptance of these tested standards to politicians and administrations, ”said Hörmann. “Sport has and will continue to adhere to the rules consistently and in a disciplined manner and is demonstrably not a driver of infection. With these nationally uniform DOSB standards, we enable all those responsible to make responsible decisions on a secure basis. ”The involvement of TÜV Rheinland as an independent service provider, which has subjected the concept to an intensive review:“ For TÜV Rheinland, ”says authorized representative and Regional Field Manager Olaf Seiche, “the examination of the DOSB hygiene standards was an important and demanding project due to the complexity. Thanks to the professional processing, in which both the DOSB, as the umbrella organization of Sport Germany, but also APA with their 35 years of experience in the sporting event business, were able to contribute their expertise, we were able to quickly evaluate these important hygiene standards. TÜV Rheinland will continue to be involved in these important hygiene standard tests, both nationally and internationally. ”The hygiene framework concept is a central basic component (see graphic in the concept). Depending on the type and size of the event, from a sports festival in a club to the implementation of a world championship, the organizers can independently add sport-specific and event-specific modules. In addition to general requirements, the basic standards offer the organizers for all target groups (athletes, trainers, spectators, helpers) a differentiated and safe accompaniment through all phases of an event, from registration and arrival to safely leaving the venue and documented contact tracking. With the help of graphics and explanatory texts, the DOSB standards give individuals, groups and organizations valuable advice on how to behave in all relevant situations before, during and after an event.
