Outdoors, all the beauty of Natal Luz, with decorated and illuminated streets, is confirmed between October 22nd and January 30th. However, to guarantee the safety of the residents and of those who visit the most traditional Christmas festival in the country, the shows in large arenas were canceled. “In this process of resuming tourism in the country, without a doubt, the opening of the festival is a milestone for the sector and symbolizes how it is possible to combine the return of tourism activities with the biosafety protocols necessary for the protection of tourists and residents ”, evaluates the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio. This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the festival will count on a mobile stage, which will take daily artistic presentations to different parts of the city, at 7 pm, starting on November 7. It is called “Routes and Notes”, as explained by Rafael Carniel, president of Gramadotur, organizer of the event. “In research, about 50% of the visiting public claims that the best way to enjoy Gramado is walking. For this reason, at night, different attractions will pass before our eyes, without having to concentrate in front of a fixed stage ”, he tells. Health monitors will support the compliance with the distance protocols. All visitors and residents must wear masks and alcohol gel in public and private environments. “The 35th edition does not want to gather, but to bring people together, even from afar, through love and remembrance. Bringing the heart closer together and remembering the meaning of Christmas ”, says Carniel.ATRAÇÕES – The decoration of the biggest edition in the history of the festival, with 101 days in duration, has 2.5 million LED lamps. The city lights, as well as the arches of Av. Das Hortênsias, the main local route, will light up daily at 8 pm. Rua Pedro Bonetti, which is located in the center of the city, became Rua das Renas, bringing together works by regional plastic artists who pay homage this year to immigration in Gramado. The “good old man”, of course, will be there and will receive visitors to Casa do Papai Noel, in Vila de Natal, located in Praça das Etnias, where artisanal products are also found. The space will be open from November 7, between 10am and 10pm. Santa Claus will interact with tourists and the community, following all the biosafety protocols recommended by the Ministry of Health, from 2 pm to 6 pm. The Christmas Troupe, formed by a group of actors, will make 1,200 theatrical and musical performances in restaurants, city hotels and parks. There will be 12 daily appearances, of 15 minutes each, and in the theme park Mundo a Vapor, always at 15h. “The Christmas Troupe will be present in various places in the city, from morning to night, always bringing magic to environments that have their own public control and protocols”, explains Rafael Carniel. The traditional Gramado Symphony Orchestra starts, on November 25, a series of 35 presentations during the 10:30 mass at the Igreja Matriz São Pedro, integrating erudition and faith. The traditional concert conducted by conductor Linus Lerner will take place on December 13, at 1 pm, also at the Igreja Matriz. On December 15th, in celebration of the city’s anniversary, there is another concert planned on the Linha Nova, in the interior of Gramado.
