Oberägeri: Ladybirds don’t bring you luck

On Thursday afternoon (October 22, 2020) there was an accident with three vehicles involved. Nobody was injured, the property damage is considerable.

The accident occurred at 2:30 p.m. on the main road in Oberägeri. A 43-year-old car driver was driving from Morgarten towards Unterägeri and wanted to close the open window. She noticed a ladybug that was in the window guide. In order not to injure it, she tried to push the beetle outside.

Immediately afterwards, after the confluence with the Alosenstrasse, she got into the opposite lane, drove past the traffic island there and crashed head-on into an oncoming car belonging to a 66-year-old driver.

As a result of the impact, the correctly driving vehicle was pushed backwards into a following and already stationary third car.

Fortunately, none of the people involved in the accident were injured. The total damage to the vehicles amounts to several tens of thousands of francs.

During the recording of the accident and the recovery of the cars, the traffic had to be driven past the accident site in one lane.
