While serving in the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Tula Region, B. Shovkun took part in the elimination of a number of major emergencies, such as a fire in a boarding house for the disabled and the elderly in the Chernsk district in 2007, and the elimination of the consequences of the crash of a military transport aircraft in 2010 year, the passage of a hurricane through the territory of Efremov in 2013 and a major traffic accident in the Tula region with a shuttle bus in 2015.

For excellence in service Boris Shovkun was awarded a state award – the “Suvorov” medal, has departmental awards from the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, awards from the Tula region.

Boris Shovkun noted that the victory in the competition “The best specialist in the field of civil defense and protection of the population” in 2020 is not only personal merit, it is also the painstaking work of the entire division and, in general, all employees of the Main Directorate.
