The Moscow City Prosecutor’s Office carried out a check on citizens’ appeals and information from Roskomnadzor in connection with the unjustified actions of the administration of one of the video hosting sites, which restricted free viewing of the Beslan investigation film by author Alexander Rogatkin on the Internet site.

During the audit, it was found that the documentary was posted on a video hosting site in compliance with the requirements of the Internet service, and the description of the video contains detailed information about its content.

In the Russian Federation, information is disseminated freely subject to the requirements established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Thus, actions to restrict free viewing of a film are discriminatory and violate the constitutional rights of citizens of the Russian Federation to search for and receive information about socially important events.

Moscow Prosecutor Denis Popov filed a lawsuit with the court about the obligation of the video hosting company to restore the violated rights of an indefinite circle of content.

By the decision of the Tagansky District Court, the claims of the Moscow Prosecutor were satisfied.
