Units of the Russian military base in Tajikistan, during the completion of the control check for the 2020 academic year, confirmed their mobilization and combat readiness to perform tasks in the Central Asian region.

The complex commission of the headquarters of the Central Military District checked the issues of the combat readiness of the motorized rifle formation, the conduct of combat duty, the state of weapons and military equipment, law and order and military discipline, the organization of comprehensive support for the activities of the troops.

At the Lyaur and Sambuli mountain ranges, servicemen of motorized rifle, tank, reconnaissance, engineering, artillery, logistic units and signal troops completed combat training missions in defense and offensive using army and unmanned aircraft.

The crews of the combat vehicles demonstrated their skills in controlling BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, T-72 tanks, Grad and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems, and Akatsia and Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers.

Logistics and engineering support units worked out the exit to the areas where combat training missions were performed, where they deployed several kilometers of fortifications, fortifications, areas for the supply of ammunition and refueling of fuel and lubricants.

In the military towns of Dushanbe and Bokhtar, special exercises were held with anti-terrorism units to repel an attack by conditional illegal armed groups on Russian military facilities.

In total, about 1000 servicemen were involved in the inspection, which was carried out from 12 to 22 October.

The 201st military base in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. It is located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar.
